So, I'm in the middle of making a documentary I've been working on for three years. I won't tell you what it's about, because it's a big surprise. La-de-dah.
One of the things you'll see in the documentary is the Lawrence Tax Day Party. You can click the link for more info, but the short story is they throw a party in the post office while people file last minute. It's been going on for 20 years, and it's awesome. Every year the Alferd Packer Memorial String Band plays. There's some video below. The handsome man on fiddle with the big beard is Steve Mason. If you see a lady in pink dancing, that's his daughter. If you see a man dancing, that's Lawrence's former Mayor Mike Rundle. How awesome is that? How many other city mayors do you know who can cut a rug like that?!
Below is a sneak preview of the documentary, sans the interviews, so you can enjoy just the music. I love love love love Lawrence for reasons like this. And I can guarantee that even though it was CLOSING TIME at the post office (on tax day), there was not a single unhapy person in the house.
