Playing with the Flip

Posted Saturday, June 23, 2007 - 1 comment

This is my favorite new gadget, the Flip Video. I first heard about on Al's Morning Meeting.

"How useful could an $89 camera be? The answer is "pretty darn useful."

Thankfully, my hubby checked out my Amazon wish list before my birthday.

It's quite user friendly. It runs on two AA batteries and my Powerbook recognizes it as an extra hard drive. As Tompkin's points out -- it's NOT broadcast quality. However, it's great for capturing those fleeting, unique, funny and out-of-this-world...whether I'm grooving at concerts, out at Bark Park, working in the newsroom and beyond.

Plus I can't stop playing with it.

A few weeks ago, it was like something out of Fear Factor.

Here are some other folks who had the guts to try out insect cuisine from K-State.

And with some iMovie magic and music by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah...I mashed up a little collage of scenes from our newsroom.

Oh yeah. That last scene? From yesterday's National Take Your Dog To Work Day. The scanners inside the newsroom freaked out my baby, so it was a brief visit.

My First "I'm Back" Email

From Maikutlo Aka - My Views

I was cleaning today and found this old email which I sent out to a group of friends & family when I first got back from SA over six years ago... being away from SA for a year and a half now, it was a good feeling to re-remember when I first "fell in love".
