Heroes 1.20 Five Years Gone

This week's episode was awesome, but also rather pointless. I know you're thinking: "But wait...Keith...we saw the future! We saw what is going to happen if the bomb goes off!" No, we saw a possible future, if everything happens exactly that way. IF Sylar doesn't die, IF Peter explodes, IF Nathan allows the bomb to go off, IF they blame Sylar, IF Sylar kills Nathan. Nothing is written yet. They proved this when Claire was alive when Future Hiro came back. So really we know no more than we did last week. A few things that didn't quite make sense to me, since Claire is alive and Peter saved her, then how does he have a scar on his face? Wouldn't that just heal like every other injury has?
That being said I love this week's episode, and some good did come of it. It was awesome seeing Peter and Hiro (future) be bad asses. I liked how Ando dying was the catalyst for Hiro become the dark person we saw. Seeing (what appeared to be) Nathan as President, Matt as the head of Homeland Security and the Haitian as his right hand man. I thought it was interesting that Mr. Bennet was helping those with powers and were not dangerous and turning the others over to Matt. And Hana was helping him. Niki was the victor in the battle between her and Jessica and is dating Peter. Claire didn't seem too much different other than the brunetteness. Mohinder was pretty much the same too but a bit more of a lap dog to Nathan.
There were a lot of deaths this episode, but of course nobody is actually dead. Matt shooting Hana and Mr. Bennet was a little surprising. D.L. and Micah being dead worked well in Sylar's favor. But it made sense that they had Micah dead in the future, since he would be about 15 at that point. And Sylar finally got to Claire's brain. I was a little surprised that Nathan was actually Sylar but it made sense because Nathan was being all evil and wanting to kill everyone with powers.
As for the bomb, the rest of the world think it was Sylar but it was actually Peter. And since only a few people know the truth, and Hiro wasn't one of them, Hiro won't be able to stop the bomb by killing Sylar. So even though Sylar does need to be stopped it won't prevent the bomb. It still doesn't answer how they are going to stop the bomb. Although my theory is becoming more realistic. When we saw Sylar and Peter fight at the end Peter tapped into Ted's ability. Therefore he runs into Ted at some point, I'm thinking before the bomb goes off and Peter couldn't control it.
Any way you look at it, that future sucked, but was awesome to watch. Only 3 more episodes until the season finale. Tomorrow there is a new episode of Veronica Mars, but I'm not sure when I'll get to watch it, so just check back often. Until then,
Namaste
