Jericho 1.13 Black Jack

Posted Wednesday, February 28, 2007

Well I did not get to see the episode in its entirety due to severe weather cut in's interrupting the show...not the commercials, the show. And of course the tornados weren't near me, but oh well. (At least we at 49 only cut in during commercials not during actual shows...at least on Lost anyways) I was able to catch the drift, and I don't think I missed anything important.

So after Jake and one of the Deputies find a dead old guy in his home, the town has a meeting because of the killer winter coming. And I'd believe it too, since Kansas has ridged winters, but the next week it could be in the 50's, 60's or 70's. If you don't believe me, come live in Kansas for a month...yesterday it was 70 and today it snowed. Anyways Heather reappears after months of being missing and recommends getting the windmills hooked into the power but they need a part. Roger tells everyone about Black Jack Fairgrounds, where people have set up a trading community. So Heather, Jake, Dad, and Dale head down there to trade some salt for the part they need. Oddly enough a lot of people pass through Black Jack and give information that they have started writing up on a big board for everyone to see. Heather writes them all down nothing seemed super interesting except for there are six people claiming right of presidential succession; it's predicted to be the worst winter "in decades;" and Sacramento, California and Cheyenne, Wyoming agreed to stop fighting. The friends that Heather runs into (it's a good thing they brought her along) also imply that there is more than one military, and if the country isn't going to become many small countries there might be war. They also say that they got a shipment drop from Germany, and countries all over the world are dropping supplies on towns. Thus implying that the people behind this are in fact Americans. This makes Hawkins look like a very bad man. They find the part they need, but can't buy it, so Dale steals it. Not too smart since Black Jack strings up thieves. Dad and Jake start to fight the guards, and they win even though they are out numbered because one of Heathers buds pulls a gun (which isn’t allowed). They all run and manage to escape and head back to Jericho. But first Heather takes off with her friends to try and get the windmills working properly.

In other plots Hawkins finds out that Sarah is in town, and he takes her home with him. Darcy isn't happy about this. They talk about some secrets we don't get to hear, and about some old guy. Sarah got a message on her PDA about Hawkins’s package, and I'm assuming it's about the bomb in the basement. They decide to go after the "Old Man". Sarah seemed sincere about getting free of this, but at the end of the episode we see her text "Old Man" in a way that makes me not trust her.

Now for the townies storylines. Mom makes Mary Baily feel like shit about herself and what she did to Eric's family. They have a "heart to heart" in her bar, and mom leaves in a huff. She leaves behind what Mary thought was a list of bad things about her, and it was a reaffirming note to herself about being nice. Stanley and Mimi were oddly missing, and Emily and Roger try to connect to each other. Roget tells her about how he got the refugee camp. It was some lame story about seeing a light with a ring around it, and it leads him to the camp. Whatever that's supposed to mean. Until next time,

Namaste

From Maikutlo Aka - My Views

I was cleaning today and found this old email which I sent out to a group of friends & family when I first got back from SA over six years ago... being away from SA for a year and a half now, it was a good feeling to re-remember when I first "fell in love".
