Description: This is a family-oriented event with no liquor sales on the premises and with numerous vendors, great food, and an outdoor festival atmosphere. Harley Town is an all-weather venue, having plenty of covered seating in case of rain. A free trolley shuttle will operate between the Festival and the Mulvane Art Fair ($5 admission fee) on the Washburn campus, and some Festival jazz groups will perform at the Art Fair to create a weekend of arts, culture, entertainment, and humanitarian spirit for Topeka.
Those who attend will be treated to three days of the best in Latin, Blues, and Jazz music free of admission.
The Coleman Hawkins Legacy Jazz Festival enters its twelfth season and its second as a charity fundraiser for the Marian Clinic.
The festival honors Topeka's own world-renowned giant of jazz, Coleman Hawkins, who re-defined the tenor saxophone as the voice of jazz itself and who recorded over a span of four decades.
