Strong storms rip through Robinson

Robinson, KS Storms ripped through northeastern Kansas taking out trees and power displacing people from their homes.
"I'm going to stay with my daughter for a while,” said Katherine Duncan, Netawaka resident.
Katherine Duncan looks at what's left of her roof. The storms that ripped through northeast Kansas Saturday evening left some people scrambling to find shelter.
"We just sat in the driveway and watched it go over us,” said Duncan. “We saw this white wall come near us and then we got hit with two batches of hail.”
Trouble started shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday. Storms with damaging winds, hail and tornadoes trampled areas like Netawaka Robinson and Willis.
In Robinson, trees were ripped from the ground, snapped half, and slammed into houses.
This carport flew over this house and landed in the yard.
In Netawaka, Duncan and her family watched from her yard as her part her roof was torn off and rain poured inside.
But even though it will be a few days before she can return to her home. Duncan says she's just happy that her family was there to help her and that everyone's okay.
The Brown County Sheriff's office knows of at least three houses damaged by the storms.
Some of their deputies spotted the tornadoes touching down.
Members of the National Weather Service will be out inspecting damage tomorrow.
