Do you need to bring plants inside when it's hot?
Annette Jackson, co-owner of Jackson's Greenhouse, 1933 NW Lower Silver Lake Road, says no.
"In fact, they probably take it better than we do," she said.
During dry periods lawns are hard to keep hydrated because their roots are shallow. But there is hope for other plants.
Annette recommends buying a soaker nozzle and letting it saturate the roots of plants one time per week for 30 minutes to one hour.
Plants in hanging baskets should be fertilized each day during the hot summer months.
Gardeners can still plant perennials, but time is running out for those who want to plant vegetables, Annette said.
And, for those planning ahead, cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower can be planted now to be harvested in the fall.
