KU women continue slide with loss to Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Despite a late rally, No. 18 Texas A&M held on to defeat the University of Kansas (6-15, 0-9), 64-53, Saturday night in College Station, Texas.
Senior Shaquina Mosley once again filled up her stat line with 10 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. The double-double was Mosley's second consecutive and third of the season.
Texas A&M held a 32-28 halftime lead. Junior Taylor McIntosh scored 10 points and pulled down six rebounds in the first half before the junior was forced to the bench with three fouls at the 4:15 mark. Kansas recorded assists on its first six successful field attempts. Mosley earned the assist on KU's first five baskets.
After a basket by Mosley tied the game, 36-all, at 15:39 of the second half, Texas A&M pulled away with a 13-0 run. Trailing 55-41 with over four minutes to play, the Jayhawks mounted a late rally to cut the Aggies lead down to six points with 50 seconds remaining. Texas A&M knocked down its next six free throws to ice the game.
The Aggies' topped ranked defense in the Big 12 stifled the Jayhawks in the second half. KU was held to 33-percent shooting in the second stanza and forced into four shot-clock violations.
McIntosh (12) and freshman Danielle McCray (11) joined Mosley in scoring double-figures. Texas A&M's Patrice Reado led all players with 18 points.
KU's next game will be at Allen Fieldhouse house against Colorado on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Tip-off between the Jayhawks and Buffaloes is set for 7 p.m.
