Big 12 Player of the Week
Monday, Texas A and M senior Acie Law earned the Big 12 Player of the Week award. The senior guard had a game-high 23 points against the Jayhawks, including ten of the Aggies' final 13 points of the game. He made 9-of-18 field goals with seven assists and two steals. Law wins the award after leading Texas A and M to two victories last week, including the Aggies 24-point win over Iowa State.
Over to Lawrence, where a theme seems to be occuring in all four of the Jayhawks losses this season.
In all four games, Kansas was beat by teams that relied heavily on seniors. Against Oral Roberts, Caleb Green picked apart the Hawks. Then, it was senior Sammy Mejia and Depaul shooting down KU.
In conference play, Texas Tech's senior Jerrious Jackson did most of the damage. And finally, on Saturday night, it was fourth year guard Acie Law.
"You know, experience is important, experience helped win the game for them," KU head coach Bill Self said. "Inexperience probably assisted us. But that's still no excuse. We were playing at home, we had everything going for us. We're up eleven. You talk about their experience and I think that's important, but there was one guy who put them on their back."
