A bag of potato chips or a pint of ice cream are items that could be used for binge eating.
A binge eater will consume large amounts of food in a matter of minutes or a couple of hours.
And new research shows, binge eating has become America's most common eating disorder.
It affects about 2 percent of adults or about one-to-two million Americans.
And it's three times more common than anorexia.
Researchers say binge eating is a form of emotional eating brought about as a way to deal with stress.
