Topeka The Shawnee County Democratic Party held its annual bean feed Sunday night. More than 300 people packed into Big Gage shelter to get a plateful of food and mingle with city and state leaders. Organizers say it's the perfect opportunity to get to know the leaders you voted for.
"You don't have to go to Washington D.C.; you don't have to be a big wig. You can just be someone who lives in the neighborhood who comes by and shakes their hand and says thanks you,” says Nancy Kirk of the Shawnee County Democratic Party.

Oh GREAT! A bunch of Democrats at a Bean Feed!
Ms. Kirk is correct...you don't have to go to Washington DC to get a bunch of hot air.
