Manhattan A robbery in Riley County may have lead to the murder of a Manhattan resident.
The robbery happened one day before the murder of 23-year-old Adam Hooks, police say.
Riley County law enforcement officers received reports that Hooks' home at 325 Sherry Place had been broken into Saturday. More than 100 DVDs and a Playstation were among the items reported stolen.
Location of murder, robbery
When an officer revisited the scene Sunday, he found Hook's body in his parked car. Police believe the murder suspect committed the robbery.
Riley county police have arrested 19-year-old Kevin Hernandez in connection with the death.
Police say Hooks and Hernandez knew each other. They were former roommates, but Hernandez was listed as homeless at the time of his arrest.
Hernandez faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and burglary. He is being held at Riley County Jail on a $775,000 bond.
Police are waiting on an autopsy to figure out the time and cause of death.
