The Kansas Highway Patrol helicopter and Shawnee County Sheriff's deputies were called in during a foot pursuit this morning.
A search ensued after a Kansas Highway trooper came upon a car and the passenger ran away. The driver was arrested right away.
The passenger was later found in the area of 13th and Glick. He was taken to St. Francis before being taken into custody. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.
Officers recovered 119 pounds of marijuana during the search of the car, Kansas Highway Patrol Lt. Wilburn said.
Troopers with K-9 units searched in the grassy area along Valencia Road south of Interstate 70.
The call came out shortly before 8 a.m.
The man who fled the area was described as a Hispanic man in brown shoes and a brown jacket with a beard, Shawnee County Sheriff's Sgt. Jay Simecka said.
