Today is Family Day, and Texas Roadhouse in Topeka is holding an event that emphasizes the importance of family dinners.
Texas Roadhouse is also providing some kid-friendly recipes the whole family can enjoy. Texas Roadhouse Managing Partner Gary Barta says teaching cooking skills to children is important.
"I think a lot of us have memories of being in the kitchen and doing a lot of things -- big part of communication, connecting. It's sharing time with each other, and it seems like food is a big part of that," Barta said.
He says dinner time is a great opportunity for families to talk over what went on during the day.
