Girl recovers in hospital after being run over by unmanned car

A child is recovering after an unmanned car ran her over in the 3500 block of Southeast 7th Street.

Police say a 5-year-old child was in a car when she shifted it from park to neutral.

When the car started to roll, the child panicked and crawled out.

Her father started to run after the car, but it ran over the child's abdomen before he could reach it.

Her parents took her to a hospital where she arrived unconscious with serious injuries.

Officials say she is expected to pull through.
