Exercise device called BodyBugg computerizes, personalizes workout

Jessica Hendrick is losing weight the old-fashioned way.

She's lost five pounds in three weeks.

"And it feels like real weight loss, not just water weight," she said.

Hendrick has slimmed down counting calories, but the way she's counting is new.

The BodyBugg uses four sensors to measure skin temperature, air temperature, motion and perspiration.

The BodyBugg is 100 percent personalized. It knows all of your personal information, including your weight loss goals.

With it, Hendrick can see her progress anytime with the push of a button.

You can learn more about the BodyBugg here.

Her Bugg syncs up to an online profile.

She can get a minute-by-minute breakdown of the number of calories her body has burned.

"This is the only way of knowing exactly how many calories you are burning in a 24 period," said personal trainer Elizabeth Sherman.

Sherman sells the BodyBugg. 12 of her clients are using it.

She says the device has de-bugged the guesswork of weight loss while showing the importance of staying active, all day long.

"It's much better for your metabolism if you're not putting everything into that workout, and you're active throughout the day," Sherman said.

Hendrick said she'll do anything she can to get the calories to show up on the computer screen every day.

The BodyBugg can be found online and at some fitness centers.
