More Kansas athletes trying for a Beijing trip

There are still 35 days to go until athletes from around the world compete in the most coveted athletic events, the Olympics Games.
But this week, here in the States, athletes are trying to make their dreams come true and secure a spot on the plane to Beijing.
And many Kansas athletes are in the hunt.
A Kansas freshman, Travis Releford, has survived the first round of cuts for the USA U-18 tryouts in DC. The future Hawk now joins thirteen players competing to make a 12-man roster. July 8 the a roster will be finalized.
Baldwin native Eric Brown is throwing in the 2008 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials Friday. Brown graduated from Baldwin in 2002 and went to throw at the University of Arkansas where he was an All-American. Now two years out of college, Brown is competing in his second Olympic Trials.
