Defending champion wins Nathan's Hot Dog contest

One change to this year's Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest is that instead of competitors eating hot dogs for 12 minutes, they moved the time limit to ten.
But as usual, everyone's eyes were on two men Joey "Jaws" Chestnut, the defending champ, and his arch rival and six-time mustard belt holder Japan's Takeru "The Tsunami" Koybayshi.
However, ten minutes wasn't enough to decide this epic battle.
They both tied at the end of regulation with a record setting total of 59 dogs and buns.
Then in a never seen before "dog off" the two former champs had a race to eat five hot dogs.
The California native Chestnut was the first down the dogs and won the 2008 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, and the Mustard Belt stays in the United States for another year. Chestnut also earned a $10,000 prize.
An International Federation of Competitive Eating founder says this is the first time in his memory that the contest went into overtime.
Chestnut and Kobayashi will battle again in September during the World Hamburger Eating Championship.
