Watermelon study may create more fireworks in Wamego
Man: "I just wish I was in the study group"

49 News went to Wamego, where a watermelon feed was underway. The reason for dropping in: To get reactions about a new study; how watermelon can have the same effects on men as the little blue pill, Viagra.
"Well I'm going to run my own survey, I've already eaten four pieces, and no effects yet," Ken Dunlap said.
An ingredient in the juicy fruit can help the body relax, having the same effect as Viagra.
Dunlap says he's willing to try.
"I've told my wife to buy three or four watermelons, and I'm hoping it works as well as they say," Dunlap said.

Many men we spoke with says it's a cheaper alternative.
"I've got a whole patch of it in the backyard," Rob Murphy said.
Murphy has never heard about the study, but was willing to try.
"I guess were fixing to find out," Murphy said.
The new findings don't surprise Dave Horn.
"Well you never know, there are a lot of common everyday cures to different things, that you don't need to go to the doctor for, so could be," he said.
The only downside to this new alternative?
Watermelon is a natural diuretic, Now, would it be worth it?
"Yes," Dunlapsaid. "Who cares? Who cares what the other effects are!"
"Possibly, well, yeah," Murphy said. "I'm going to go with yes."
Dunlap says the study was a good idea.
"Well sure, I mean I just wish I was in the study group," Dunlap said.
If the study is true, there's sure to be extra fireworks in Wamego tonight.
Researchers say if you're already taking Viagra, you shouldn't expect the same results by skipping the little blue pill and opting for watermelon instead.
