The general election is 25 days away and some people do not want to wait until November 4 to cast their ballots.
Numbers from the Shawnee County Election Office show requests for 8,121 advance ballots for the upcoming election. The numbers are 55 percent higher than the 5,248 requests for advance ballots in the last presidential election in 2004.
For information on how to participate in advance voting, find your polling place, or find other voting information in Shawnee County, go to the Shawnee County Election Office's Web site.
