It's the most active rivalry in Division 2 athletics, the annual meeting between Washburn and Emporia State.

This game would be a defensive slugfest. In the beginning of the third, WU up six to nothing, when Andre Sloan El throws it right in the mitts of Nathan Gaswick for the interception.

Minutes later, Sloan El again, this time he throws it deep and it would get picked off by Naj Shinskia. And he would pick up some blockers and and picks up forty yards on the turnover, but they could not capitalize.

Later in that drive, Simoneau would get picked off by Tyler Mickkelson.

Both teams would combine for five turnovers, but there would be some touchdowns.

To the fourth, Terrence Lowe gets the hand-off and goes off tackle and makes his way to the endzone. Add the two point conversion, and it's 14-0 Bods.

However, ESU would respond. Sloan El with the three step drop and finds Danny McEvoy on the go route for the score.

But Washburn holds on to win this homecoming edition of the Tussle, 14-6.
