49 Storm Team Forecast: Unsettled weather pattern to continue
4:20 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008
The showery pattern remains firmly in place. Showers and clouds will keep the sun from warming up the surface, so do not expect really warm weather anytime soon. A little sun on Monday may actually help to enhance rain chances.
Tonight: Cloudy with isolated showers and drizzle. Some fog is also possible. Lows around 54 F. Light winds.
Sunday: Isolated showers, mainly south. Otherwise cloudy and continued cool. Highs around 75 F.
Sunday night: Generally cloudy. Lows around 60 F.
On Monday, a more progressive (stronger) system will pull into the Central Plains. With winds high up more favorable, the dynamics will be a bit more robust. We will have a more humid airmass in place too. With the help of a little sun, we will see the instability increase by Monday afternoon. As a cold front slices into this airmass, and with the dynamics, do not be surprised to see a few stronger storms during the mid-to-late afternoon hours on Monday.
Another progressive system will enter the picture on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. After that storm, things will clear out in time for the first half of the weekend!
