Board of Regents approves pay raise for university presidents

The state's six university presidents are getting a hefty pay raise.
The Board of Regents approved the 2.5 percent salary increase. It says the raise is a cost of living adjustment.
The board did put a compensation cap on each president's salary.
Compensation Caps
Robert Hemenway (KU): $340,352
Jon Wefald (KSU): $315,962
Don Beggs (WSU): $277,160
Ed Hammond (FHSU): $223,860
Tom Bryant (PSU): $223,860
Mike Lane (ESU): $213,200
KU Chancellor Robert Hemenway is the highest paid with a new salary of $267,177.
K-State President Jon Wefald will make $255,298.
Wichita State President Don Beggs will get $223,391.
Fort Hays State president Ed Hammond and Pittsburg State president Tom Bryant will get $202,593.
Emporia State president Mike Lane's salary will be just a little less at $202,540 dollars.
The Board of Regents also gave a pay raise to Reggie Robinson, its president and chief executive officer. He will now make $185,525.
