Topeka A Washburn Rural student was awarded scouting's highest honor on Sunday.
Sam Ho became an Eagle Scout in a ceremony at First Presbyterian Church.
His mother, Jennifer, pinned Sam's Eagle badge on him, and Sam presented his dad with an Eagle tie tack.
For his Eagle project, Ho took on the job of painting a map of the U.S. on the playground at Jay Shideler elementary school.
"There had been a map before," Ho said. "But it had been paved over, and I felt that it would be an appropriate addition to the new playground."
Ho started out in scouting as a Tiger Cub ten years ago.
