Blake Smith
Meteorologist
KTKA Meteorologist, November 2005 -
Blake is a Topeka native and is excited to be back home in northeast Kansas. He is the morning meteorologist for 49 Storm Team.
Before coming to Channel 49, Blake was a meteorologist and reporter at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, New York. He started his career as a meteorologist at KTWO-TV in Casper, Wyoming, where he spent two years covering morning and evening weather.
He has been awarded the AMS Seal of Approval and was honored as “Best Weather Person” by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters.
Blake graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with an atmospheric science degree and journalism minor.
He was drawn back to northeast Kansas because of the area’s dynamic and ever-changing weather. As part of the 49 Storm Team, he is committed to bringing you the latest information to help keep your family safe during severe weather.
When Blake isn’t forecasting or chasing storms, he enjoys running, playing soccer and traveling.
