Dave DeCandis

Sports Anchor/Reporter

NEW! Check out Dave's video bio.

Dave comes to the Sunflower State from the Sunshine State. Dave graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in marketing.

Dave is originally from Clarks Summit, Pa., but grew up most of his life in Jacksonville, Fla.

Dave has always had a passion for sports. He started playing rec league basketball, then played football and threw discus and shot putt for his high school teams. In college, he was an avid intramural participate and loved playing flag football and softball. He also worked as a certified high school football referee while in college and officiated many different intramural sports. Somewhere along the way, he decided that he would use his love of sports in a career. So, he decided to become a sports journalist.

Dave started his broadcasting career as sports reporter, anchor, producer and photographer for UCF’s on-campus news show, UCF Knightly News and interned in the Sports Department at Central Florida News 13. Dave also was a play-by-play and color commentator for the UCF radio station, and for a short time was a sports writer for the school paper.

Dave also worked for GolfweekTV.com as a photographer/editor, which gave him the opportunity to travel across the country shooting professional, college, amateur and junior golf tournaments.

When he is not at work, you can find Dave on the golf course, at the movies, listening or playing music or on the couch watching his favorite TV shows.
