Jeff McCarragher
KTKA Anchor/Reporter, January 2006 - February 2007
Jeff joins the 49 Sports Team after spending the last four years as the lead radio and television play-by-play broadcaster for the New York Mets AAA affiliate in Norfolk, Virginia.
A graduate of the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas, Jeff began his professional career as the pre- and post-game show host for the Kansas City Royals Radio Network. Jeff has spent the last eight years as a radio and television play-by-play broadcaster in baseball as well as basketball and football. While calling the action for the UNC-Greensboro men’s basketball team earlier in his career, Jeff broadcast games for both the NCAA Tournament and the NIT.
Jeff has had a lifelong passion for sports and is extremely excited to be back in the state of Kansas. When not at work, Jeff enjoys golfing, fishing, watching movies, traveling, watching football on TV … and a nice quiet dinner (not really, but this is how he would spend his time if he weren’t busy with a family of four).
A native of Iowa City, Iowa, Jeff and his wife, Amy, have a son Derek, 4, and a daughter, Noelle, 1.
