Liz Zamora came to 49 News most recently from KQTV in St. Joseph, Missouri. In the past two years, she served in several capacities including morning anchor, reporter, assignment editor and 5 o’clock anchor before coming to Topeka.

Zamora graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in broadcast journalism. She took her first job in television at KOLR in Springfield, Missouri. Zamora worked there for four years before going to KSHB in Kansas City, where she worked as a photographer, assignment editor and reporter.

Zamora left the television news industry briefly to produce a television show for the Kansas City Police Department. She went on to work for the City Government Station in Kansas City, producing several shows. Zamora produced and hosted a news program called “Kansas City Matters,” which received both a Telly and a Communications Award.

Zamora grew up in a rural area in southcentral Missouri. She has lived and worked in the Midwest throughout her career. In her spare time, Zamora enjoys playing sports like basketball, volleyball and golf. She also enjoys cheering her Mizzou Tigers onto victory unless they are playing K-State or KU. Zamora looks forward to working at 49 News and becoming part of the community.
