Kris, It sounds like you would enjoy Veronica Mars a lot. Joss Whedon at some point said it was his favorite show. He even did a guest spot in season 2.

I've heard rumor Joss will do a comic Book of Buffy which will be season 8 more or less. If that's true I'll get it.

Since I wrote that,I have noticed something else. With a lot of the spam, who ever writes it also writes a signature, which seemed vaguly familar, It is a paragraph from "The Hobbit". I'm not a big enough fan to know what chapter or page number or the context. I think that is even more strange. It makes me wonder who is dumb enough to actually try an order something,How much these spammers make off of this.

My apologies for not clarifying I was talking about the evening newscasts.

Also for not seeing the interviews you mentioned, I don't see the whole morning show,I'm in and out of it between getting ready for work,I havn't written a whole blog entry on morning television but I do think it's a great show.Jessica and Blake have a great chemistry going on.

I remember the silence of the day as well. I was listening to the radio on head phones and at point I took them off I remember clearly hearing the sounds of different radio stations all blending together and the complete silence of my co workers.

I wonder to if I will have the courage.I'll be very interested to see how much it takes in at the Box Office.

I don't work anymore in the Industry. To give a brief Biography from 1996 to 1999 I did work at 49 in the Studio production crew. In that time I:
-Operated the studio Cameras,Ran the Telaprompter,Worked the Audio Board, was Floor Director,Was Tape Operator and on occassion Edited Video Tape.Although I never kept track I'd estimate I worked on somewhere around 3,000 to 4,000 newscasts,6 politial Debates,10 to 15 episodes of the Public affairs show KTKA Produced.Dozens of wall to wall weather break ins. And when ABC Sports came to Manhattan for a Football game I was asked to work with their production unit on that telecast.

I think I got to know some of the On Air personel fairly well, they talked about their jobs.

I think I do have some experience at what goes on behind the scenes. Also I watch the news and have many conversions with people at the watercooler that start off "Do you see that story about ..." the rest of the conversation may range from the story to watch the reporter was wearing.

As to the specific comment, What do you like about 13 ? Not like about the others ? Personally I'd encourage anyone to watch more than 1 newscast. I'm a native Topekan,Early 40 something so I grew up on 13 News, back in the old days when we only 5 or 6 channels.

Thank You for reading the blog and leaving a comment.

Hi Kris,
I worked at 49 in the Mid 90's. My last months were spent at the morning show. For the production crew my alarm went off at 4:15 to be in by 5.Coffee was a must.It was a close knit group,2 Anchors(one produced),1 weatherman,a director,Assistant Director,A Tape op,a sound guy ,one camera guy and we always had trouble filling that second camera position.

My fondest memories of the morning show was one a month we went out for Breakfast. Also the absolute guilt I felt the day my alarm didn't go off, and the moral responsibilty I felt to bring in donuts the next morning.Any one who sleeps through the alarm better bring donuts. And that was the worst thing I did in 3 1/2 years at 49.

My farewell breakfast at IHOP was another special day.

It was a thrill to see the news on 49 Again.Good Luck and Good News. Can't wait to read the blog and see if much has changed in the news game.

I want to hear all the good stuff like if an Anchor walks under a ladder on the way to the set, claims not to be superstitous and well you can guess how the show went from there.......
